Taka was raised in Chiba prefecture.
With various advanced skills in visual communication, art direction, event facilitation and research methods, Taka is enthusiastic about exploring cultural contexts and enhancing the quality of life across the world.
After completing a Masters course in London and various projects in Japan, Taka uses his experience and expertise to conduct action research and analytical processes to complete projects. To avoid participating in passive projects, Taka believes it is essential to directly interact with the individuals who are at the centre of the project. As seen in many of his works, collaboration on all levels is one of his fundamental skills.
After graduating with a BA from Musashino Art University in Tokyo, Taka joined a graphic design company and worked across a range of projects, including advertising, package design, and brand guidelines for large companies. At the same time, he participated in local projects including KANAYA BASE and Nobushina Genmai Coffee, which led him to question the differences between urban industrial design and community design. Following this he spent time in Ogawa, a small rural village and decided to complete a Masters of Arts in Narrative Environments at Central Saint Martins, London. Graduating in 2016, this degree enabled Taka to explore the relationship between place, story and time.
Since January 2017, he moved to Shiga Pref. to develop his project "Shitateya-to-Shokunin" which is about telling hidden stories of Japanese artisans by using his methods. Today, his fields are broadened to several countries in Japan.
